Charlotte Curchod - Lighting design
After a Bachelor's degree in philosophy and literature at the University of Fribourg, Charlotte Curchod completed her studies with a CAS as a story collector with Catherine Schmutz-Brun. She mainly questioned the different possibilities of giving form, through various media (writing, video, audio), to self-stories. Her final work focused on the stories and silences of the experience of illness. She nourishes a passion - body and soul - for the book, in what it can conceal of silence(s) and materiality(ies). She likes to slip into the interstices and between the lines, to meet the text and the image. She had the joy of participating in four publications, the last of which was in collaboration with the Théâtre des Osses in Fribourg in order to question the link between theater and ecology.
A meeting with lighting designer Laurent Schaer was particularly enlightening, and she was able, by collaborating with him, as a lighting designer, to deepen her knowledge of the stage on larger-scale projects, notably with choreographer Perrine Valli and director Martine Corbat. Since 2019, she has been responsible within a theater festival - FriScènes - for imagining strolls through which she explores the possibilities of bringing self-stories to the stage and since 2023 she has been a programmer within this same festival for the school, amateur and professional theater selection.
